After two years of fundraising First Baptist Church, Hayden, broke ground on a new building July 14. The 5,000-square-foot addition will be used as a place to greet guests and enjoy fellowship with church members. The building will also contain a memorial wall and a coffee service as well as an elevator to provide easier access to the auditorium for those who struggle with stairs.
“This is the first step in a long series of steps for updating and meeting the space needs of our various ministries,” said Pastor Keith Hudson. “We needed space for our folks to gather and meet with one another before our services. And we have included space for our ‘God’s Storehouse’ ministry, which provides one week of groceries for as many as 300 people each month. We are grateful to God for bringing us to this place and look forward to where He will take us in the future.” (TAB)
