Q: What led you to work with children?
A: I wanted to make children feel at ease and help them learn. I really wanted to understand children.

Q: Why have you continued through the years?
A: I just enjoy it. I like to study the literature and see what foundation the children are getting — seeing how they mature from grade 1–6.

Q: What does it demand?
A: It demands studying and reading the lesson and books other than Sunday School materials. I still like to read books on the growth, development and needs of children.

Q: What do you get from it?
A: I get enjoyment — being with the children, meeting the parents and being a part of activities other than Sunday School and church. I like to see the total child, and the children like to see you be natural.

Q: How do family members support you?
A: Totally. My husband is a wonderful Christian, and he has always been very supportive.

Q: How do you see yourself involved in this in the future?
A: I’m just recovering from having two major surgeries in three days — hip and colon cancer. So I’m just waiting to see what the Lord is going to have me do.
