The Way We Worship

FFH released its 14th studio album, “The Way We Worship,” at the end of 2012. This is certainly the most laid-back record the band has made.
The idea for the record came from their desire to capture some of the old hymns that member Jennifer Deibler sang to their children as they fell asleep. Those hymns, “Come Thou Fount,” “Be Still My Soul,” “Softly and Tenderly,” “What a Friend We Have In Jesus” and “In the Garden,” feature Deibler’s folksy vocals set against beautifully sparse arrangements. They all have a warm, almost bluegrassy feel, and they are the backbone of this album.
The other songs on the record are corporate worship songs from member Jerome Deibler, born of his role as worship leader at their home church. You might think such songs would be out of place on this record, but their simple arrangements fit right in with the overall theme of the record. The result is a cohesive, satisfying record that will appeal to a lot of folks.
