First Auchmuty Lecture Held

Randall Lolley spoke at Samford Feb. 7 as the inaugural presenter of the James A. Auchmuty Jr. Lecture in Congregational Leadership.

Lolley, retired president of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., and pastor of First Baptist Church, Greensboro, N.C., asked students to consider what it is that they are looking for as leaders and used the lecture’s namesake and pastor emeritus of Shades Crest Baptist Church, Hoover, as an example.

“If you find what you’re looking for, what will you have? Jim Auchmuty’s quality of spirituality has substance and growth,” Lolley said.
