First Baptist Church in Andalusia honored Dwight Crigger for more than 40 years of music ministry as he retired July 25. The special service gathered together people from across his years of ministry, all the way back to his first full-time church.
Keith Hibbs of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions said, “We honor Dwight because he has honored Christ in his ministry in every situation he’s been in.”
For most of Crigger’s career, he and his wife, Sonia, have served in Alabama.
Kevin Wilburn, pastor of First, Andalusia, said Crigger has led “humbly” and thanked him for his perseverance in leading, pointing out the room full of people who love him.
As for what’s next, Crigger said, “There has been an unseen hand that has guided me every step of the way, and that unseen hand is not going to vanish today. That unseen hand is going to continue to lead us to what’s next.”
