First Baptist Church, Montgomery, on mission

First Baptist Church, Montgomery, in Montgomery Baptist Association sent a team of four on a missions trip to the small town of Jacmel, Haiti, located less than 50 miles south of the capital of Port-au-Prince, May 28–June 5. The team’s work was part of the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions’ partnership with Jacmel. The primary goal was to assess the area for future projects.

Brian Gay, minister of missions for First, Montgomery, looked for ways that the church could help like construction projects and orphan ministry. While assessing needs, the team did Bible studies, prayer walks and a children’s program.
