First Baptist Church, Sulligent, on mission

Volunteers from First Baptist Church, Sulligent, in Lamar Baptist Association, joined others from Lamar, Marion, Walker, Cullman and Winston counties in September to rebuild Beaverton Freewill Baptist Church in Lamar County.

The Beaverton church was destroyed by a fire connected to the string of Alabama churches burned by arsonists in February. Volunteers and others have donated building materials and architectural services to the rebuilding effort.
Beaverton Freewill Baptist Pastor Dwight Bailey said the church has been encouraged by the support.
