First Church, Bayou La Batre, will celebrate its 125th homecoming Oct. 8. Former pastor Garry Harred will speak, and former member and music director David Akridge will lead the music. Dinner on the grounds will follow the service. There will be an afternoon service at 1:30, during which former pastors, staff members and some of those called into the ministry will give their testimony. Former and current musicians will sing and play. Derrall Marshall is pastor.
