First Church, Fultondale, staff change

Barry Bruce is the new pastor of First Church, Fultondale. He has served churches in the greater Birmingham area for 30 years. For the past 20 years, he served as pastor of Philadelphia Church, Birmingham. He holds a master of divinity from New Orleans Seminary. Bruce also completed a clinical pastoral education residency at Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Birmingham. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he currently serves as chaplain and bereavement coordinator for Hospice Advantage and as a chaplain generalist for Trinity Medical Center. Bruce and his wife, Joy, have two children and three grandchildren.
