Tom Whitsett is the new pastor of First Church, Jasper, effective Aug. 1. Whitsett previously served as pastor of churches in Arkansas and Mississippi. An Alabama native, he holds a degree in accounting and a master of divinity degree from Mid-America Seminary. Whitsett and his wife, Terri, have three sons.
