First Church, Opelika, anniversary

First Church, Opelika, will celebrate its 150th anniversary Oct. 25. Worship services will be at 8:30, 9:45 and 11 a.m. A covered-dish lunch will follow. A program of singing, history, dedication and recognition will be at 1:30 p.m. There will be a book signing for “A History of the First Baptist Church of Opelika, Alabama: 1859–2009” by Daniel “Buddy” W. Hollis. The book also will be available for purchase. Steve Scoggins is pastor.
