First Church, Salem, will celebrate its 162nd anniversary and homecoming Aug. 12, 11 a.m., with former pastor R.T. “Rudy” Tidwell as guest speaker. A covered-dish lunch will be at noon, followed by a singing with The Gospel Messengers. Thomas H. Dobbs is interim pastor.
