DETROIT, Mich. — Former President Gerald Ford challenged teens to change their world for Christ. Speaking during a “Teen Mania Stand Up Rally” held in Detroit’s Silverdome in mid-April, Ford told 50,000 teens that his faith in God is what made it possible for him to fulfill his role as president after Richard Nixon resigned in 1974. “I never wanted to be president,” he said, “but on the night of my nomination, I thanked God for everything that He had done to prepare me. The fact that God was in my life gave me the faith and knowledge that I could do the job.”
