Forest Lake Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, is hosting a retirement celebration March 27 for one of its three senior pastors, Rick Mitchell. They all serve as co-pastors.
The event will be in the fellowship hall and begins at 2 p.m.
Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, Decatur, celebrated its 50th anniversary Oct. 26. Danny Duncum, former music minister, sang a solo, and current music minister Steve Yarborough led the congregation in singing traditional hymns.
Union Chapel Baptist Church, Ethelsville, celebrated its 125th anniversary, Oct. 18, with an afternoon community-wide event that included games, hot dogs and chili.
Big Springs Baptist Church, Roanoke, celebrated its 175th anniversary Dec. 7. Scott Hannah, a former pastor, was the guest preacher.
Chuck Stewart is the new pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Alexander City. He previously served at Jacksons Gap Baptist Church.
