Betty Foster, a faithful volunteer in her church and association, is actively involved in her community as well, volunteering at LV Stabler Memorial Hospital in Greenville one day a week and in the public schools. Foster is described as having a great spirit and willingness to go, do and serve whenever and however. She hopes to make her community a better place to live and inspire other seniors to follow her lead.
 
Q: How are you involved in ministry?
A: Besides teaching children Sunday School and Mission Friends, I also sing in the choir. I am not only active in my church but my association as well. As director of senior adults for Butler Baptist Association, we have a senior adult meeting once a quarter in which we average about 100 people. 

Q: What have you gotten from those ministries?
A: My name is being called wherever I go, and I am constantly receiving hugs from children, which makes me feel like I’m making a difference. One recent reward has been teaching a little girl in Sunday School that has never been to church and watching her grow.

Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: I gave my life to Christ when I was 16 at a summer revival. Church has always been a part of my life.

Q: What difference has being a Christian made in your life?
A: It has made me a better person and has made me be able to do volunteer work and serve. I do all these things with the help of the good Lord. I rely on Him. I let everyone know that the Lord has something in everything I do. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13).
