Ted Vafeas is the new director of missions/AMS of Franklin Baptist Association. He has been serving as interim since last October and was recently elected by unanimous vote to become director.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama and attended New Orleans Seminary.
Vafeas has served churches in Alabama and Mississippi throughout his ministry and also has served as a chaplain.
Since retiring in 2010 as pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals (now Redemption Shoals), he has served as interim pastor of several churches. He and his wife, Judy, have been married 56 years and have two adult children and three grandchildren.
