William “Bill” Franks, who served as pastor of several Baptist churches, died Feb. 3. He was 82.
Franks served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Campbell College (now Campbell University) in Buies Creek, N.C., an associate of divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C., and a master of divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in Lithonia, Ga.
He was pastor of a Baptist church in Tarrant and of another in Crane Hill. He also served as pastor of churches in Mississippi, Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pelham, at the time of his death. Franks is survived by his wife, Ann; four children; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
