Baptist Montclair Hospital in Birmingham is hosting free skin cancer screenings Aug. 16, 3 to 5 p.m.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) estimates 2,200 people will die of non-melanoma skin cancer this year. The ACS also reports skin cancer is the most common of all cancers accounting for more than 40 percent of all cancers. About 1.3 million cases of non-melanoma skin cancer is found in the United States each year. The free screening will be for non-melanoma and melanoma skin cancer.
