Full-time evangelists busy sharing Christ, seeking God’s wok

“Let us be busy sharing Christ in our various places of service so that others will see Jesus in us daily,” said Leon Westerhouse, music director and convention liasion for the Alabama Conference of Southern Baptist Evangelists (ACSBE).

Sharing the message of God’s love and grace is what full-time evangelists throughout the state do on a regular basis.

Perry Neal, president of ACSBE, has been in evangelism for 25 years. “The call” is what has kept Neal going for so long.

“When I was called, it was something I couldn’t walk away from,” Neal said.

He has found there’s no more peaceful place than the middle of God’s will.

According to Neal, others who have served full time more than 25 years include Roger Breland, Junior hill, Charles Mashburn, Clayton Shaw, Anis Shorrosh, Westerhouse and Sam Wolfe.

The state evangelism conference will be held Jan. 24–25 at the Dothan Civic Center. Pre-session music will be provided by the Alabama Singing Evangelists at 12:45 p.m. Jan. 24 and 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Jan. 25. The evangelists will hold a business meeting Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Dothan. Following the Monday evening session, evangelists will gather for Afterglow.

Other ACSBE officers include Don Graham, vice president and Brian and Darlene Berry, secretary/treasurer. (TAB)
