Fyffe First Baptist Church celebrated its 100th anniversary April 6. Charles Jones, a former pastor and director of missions of DeKalb Baptist Association, was the guest preacher.
During the service, the church received three special recognitions from Paul Cagle, mayor of Fyffe; Keith Wrenn, the association’s missions strategist; and Wendell Dutton, a commissioner of the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission. Barbara Pitts and Wayne Benefield were recognized as having the longest membership, and a story of gratitude was shared by Sue McFadden.
Special music was provided by a ladies ensemble, the sanctuary choir and a solo by Crystal Webb Bryant. Chuck Conley, a former pastor, gave the closing prayer.
