Pineywood Baptist Church, Gardendale, marked its 75th anniversary July 14 with a service that began at 10:30 a.m.
The anniversary committee made handheld fans that featured the church’s 75th celebration, and those fans were passed out to attendees as keepsakes.
During the service, Pastor Eddie Hughes incorporated Hebrews 12:1–2 into his message and a former church member sang.
Pat Musselwhite, representative from the Alabama Baptist Historical Commission, presented a plaque to the church, and Charlotte LeSueur, church treasurer, read a brief history of Pineywood Baptist.
Hughes noted that a dinner followed and said the entire day was “a very good time.”
Speaking about the vision for the future of the North Jefferson Baptist Association church, Hughes said it “is to go out and reach our community as much as we can to bring them into the fold of God … to see lives changed … that’s the main thing.”
