LONDON — A Bible as narrow as the head of a thumbtack was the smallest item being offered for sale by Christie’s in a March 10 auction. The German-language Old Testament is 3/16 inch square with printed words so small they must be read with a magnifying glass. The miniature Bible, believed to have been published in the late 19th or early 20th century, was expected to bring $800–$1,200.
