Most of my things are in suitcases, many goodbyes have been said and ministries have been completed. When I left America in October 2002 I never imagined I would be able to see the Lord work in such phenomenal ways in Lesotho. In my time here I’ve had the privilege of serving as a nurse, teacher, pianist, language student and a friend. Despite anything I’ve done I have grown in knowledge and insight of who our Savior is and count all my efforts as rubbish for the sake of knowing Him deeper. I return to the United States with images, phrases, smells and experiences that have shaped me to be more like the image of Christ.

Thank you for journeying with me through the good and bad times — the times of seeing youth respond positively to the HIV/AIDS crisis, watching women come to know Christ through health-care teaching, the suffering and death of innocent children because of AIDS and the bittersweet departure of children who are adopted or returned to the their families.

I was able to travel to Harare, Zimbabwe, for several days of fellowship and retreat with other missionaries from southern Africa. What a blessing it was to share with brothers and sisters who serve our Lord in different parts of Africa.

We played putt-putt golf and bowled together — I didn’t realize how much I missed those things. Praise God for great fellowship. Many of you have asked what’s next for me. Although I can’t share all the details right now, I can say many changes are coming in the next year. The Lord has been so faithful to lead and guide me as I plan for the future. Until April 2005 I’ll be living with my parents in Gardendale and working as a nurse.

If you like to follow the work among the Basotho visit www.basotho.org or www.maluti-mountain-missions.com. Even though my time in Lesotho is ending I will continue to serve the Lord in different ways in America and hopefully overseas again. My prayer for myself and for you all is that our knowledge of God’s character will grow continually and consistently, regardless of our country of residence.

Your faithful, consistent prayers have been one of the greatest blessings of my life. May God pour out His richest blessings upon you.
