Ginny Owens has never been one to shy away from asking the hard questions in life.
She, like the rest of us, realizes that life isn’t always easy and that tough times will come.
Yet Owens exudes great confidence in her Redeemer even when she isn’t able to explain her own feelings of doubt and insecurity.
It is in knowing that the hard times are not the end of the story that Owens was able to create her latest album, “Something More.”
This theme of God’s sovereignty weaves itself through the fabric of each song.
“Run to You” assures us of our ability to turn to God in the midst of change and confusion. “I Am” speaks from the doubting perspectives of Moses, Saul and Mary to which God replies,
“There’s a bigger picture that you can’t see/ You don’t have to change the world, just trust in Me.”
“Something More” introduces us to a new side of Owens’ musical prowess.
With the help of producer Monroe Jones, Owens encases her humble and introspective lyrics in a more urban pop sound. The diversity of this album compared to her previous album only causes us to wait with anticipation to see what Owens holds in store for us in the years to come.
