Evangelist Billy Graham continues to recover from a surgical procedure done Feb. 13, according to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Web site.
The elective procedure replaced a valve regulating pressure in his brain caused by a long-standing hydrocephalus condition, the site said. Hydrocephalus is a buildup of fluid in the brain, and a recent checkup indicated that the valve wasn’t adequately controlling fluid levels.
At press time, Graham was in fair condition at Mission Hospitals in Asheville, N.C., had been on a regular diet and had begun physical therapy.
“He’s doing well, and is alert and articulate,” his doctor said, according to the site. “We’re pleased with his progress.” (TAB)
