Lynell Harrison is known as a prayer warrior at First Baptist Church, Alabaster. In addition to teaching a ladies Sunday School class for more than 25 years, she has led Bible studies and discipleship classes. She also represents senior adult women on the church’s women’s ministry team and speaks at women’s retreats.
Q: Why do you think prayer is so important?
A: I believe that prayer is the most valuable resource that a Christian can have. During the most difficult times of my life, I’ve experienced the power of God through prayer. I’ve received my strength through prayer. It’s a beautiful way to fellowship with God every day.
Q: How did you become known as a prayer warrior?
A: I’ve never thought of myself as a prayer warrior. I’m a strong believer in prayer, and I’ve seen God answer prayer in so many uniquely special ways.
Q: What does a strong prayer life demand?
A: It demands a love for God and other people and discipline.
Q: How do other family members support you?
A: My husband is my greatest supporter in any ministry I’m involved in.
Q: What difference will this ministry make for you in the future?
A: Prayer will always keep me in close fellowship with God. The desire of my heart is to pray more.
