Ron DeSantis visited the vaccination site, commending the church for its partnership in the community. A local hospital provides the shots, and the church provides volunteers to help organize the site, the Florida Baptist Witness reported.

When 17-year-old Kelsey found herself facing an unintended pregnancy, she had to make some choices. She considered abortion but knew it wasn’t the right decision. Kelsey found Christian Adoption Services, a ministry of Baptist Children’s Homes of North Carolina. She moved into a family-style maternity home and through that program, she chose adoption for her daughter. “Abortion and parenting shouldn’t be the only options that come to your mind,” Kelsey told BCH’s Blake Ragsdale. “Adoption is a beautiful thing.”

First Baptist Church, Spartanburg, South Carolina, is making big plans to build tiny houses for women in need. A village of about 20 tiny houses is planned on about an acre of property adjacent to the church’s ministry center. The single-bedroom homes will range from 190- to 230-square feet, and a few two-bedroom homes also will be built. Women who live temporarily in the homes will participate in a mentoring program offered by the church, the Baptist Courier reported.

After a bomb exploded on Christmas morning in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, nearby First Baptist Church opened its kitchen facilities for volunteers with special security clearance to prepare meals for the many first responders investigating the scene. Approximately 1,000 meals a day were served to first responders as the investigation unfolded. The church, four blocks from the blast site, is also helping displaced residents and business owners by participating in a recovery fund for that purpose.
