Healing Prayer on Holy Ground: A Cardiologist Discovers God’s Presence in the Lives of His Patients

Mark Sheehan with Chris Sheehan. Lake Mary, Fla.: Creation House, 2010. 176 pp. (Paperback).

Mark Sheehan has been a practicing cardiologist for almost 30 years. During that time, he has witnessed many crises in the lives of his patients and has grown to realize the value of prayer — both his and that of others.

“Healing Prayer on Holy Ground” recounts many stories from Sheehan’s experiences, including the story of Kasey, who lay in a coma for several days and was able to repeat the exact words of those who prayed for her — both those who were in the hospital with her and those who were several miles away.

While the first three sections of the book are riveting, Part 4 seems to unravel a bit and lose some of the flavor and focus of the first sections. Even so, the book is a good read, offering Scripture, citing research and serving as a reminder of the power of prayer and the difference an intercessor can make.
