In January, the location of the monthly food bank where we volunteer moved to the area where our church is located. People who live nearby received a brochure explaining the possibility of receiving free food once a month. The neighbors have been so enthusiastic about the church’s willingness to share with those who are not members. Pray the people who come for the food will be open to spiritual nourishment as well. Pray this social ministry will open doors to sharing the good news with those who come.
We presented the possibility of an outreach center to the church we attend Feb. 1. The church was overwhelmingly in favor of it. The proposed launch for the center is September. Pray all the details will be worked out in a timely fashion, all the needed materials including computers and tables can be bought and people will volunteer their time to work.
Pray the center can be a light in the neighborhood around the church, which presently has no ongoing weekday witness. Pray volunteer teams will come to do small construction projects, plan parties and fun times and prayer walk for this ministry, as well as others in which we are involved in the city.
