Twelve students from five Alabama universities — the University of Alabama, Auburn University, Samford University in Birmingham, the University of South Alabama in Mobile and the University of Alabama at Birmingham — and two Baptist campus ministers — Shannon Hughes of South Alabama and Brant Bonds of Auburn — traveled to Jacmel, Haiti, July 9–17.
The team visited five churches, and the students led Bible studies, crafts and games. They also joined with them in worship.
In the afternoons, the students played soccer, baseball and Frisbee with the children, as well as taught them hand games and dances. The afternoons also were spent fellowshipping and connecting with the Haitians in order to encourage their spirits. (TAB)
