Huffman Baptist Church members decided the new school year would be a perfect time to reach out to their community.
Through their “Supply Out Schools” campaign, Huffman donated to students of Going Elementary and Huffman Middle School supply packs and other items usually bought by parents.
Huffman members delivered the items Aug. 1 and 2 during the school’s registration.
“We will never truly be a missions church in the biblical sense until we are reaching our own community,” said Tim Lovett, pastor of Huffman.
Through this mission, Huffman was able to reach approximately 700 families.
The money needed for this mission came through love offerings from the congregation.
Monetary donations began on Mother’s Day and continued through June.
Items such as paper towels, hand soap, baby wipes and bandages were also given by Huffman members.
