During the Pastors Conference Monday, Nov. 12, Alabama evangelist Junior Hill had to be helped from the pulpit of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, and taken to the hospital in an ambulance. By Friday, Nov. 16, Hill said he was feeling fine.
Tests indicated the problem was a virus and not heart related as first feared. Rest was the primary prescription.
Hill said he traveled from Jacksonville, Fla., Monday morning to be at the Pastors Conference and was tired when he entered the pulpit. He confessed to “embarrassment” on becoming ill and not being able to finish the sermon. A pastor friend drove Hill back to his home in Hartselle where Hill said he slept for about two days.
Hill said that before he got out of the emergency room Monday afternoon he had received telephone calls from pastor friends in three different states expressing concern about his health. Since then he has been inundated with calls, he added.
“It is really a humbling experience to know people care,” he said. “It is an honor to know people are praying for you.” (TAB)
