An Alabama native and her husband were recently appointed as missionaries to the Central and Eastern Europe region by the International Mission Board (IMB).
Huntsville native Cathy Matheny and her husband, Tim, were among 116 new missionaries appointed to overseas work at a May 20 service at Midland (Texas) College.
The group was the second-largest missionary appointment in IMB history and will join the 5,200 other IMB workers serving around the world.
The Mathenys and their two children, Hudson Grant, 6, and Caroline Grace, 5, will be seeking to reach the lost for Christ in Russia, where Cathy will serve in community and home outreach and Tim will serve in community outreach, development and ministry.
