‘Instant piano’ classes set at Samford

Samford University in Birmingham will offer a beginning class in chord piano May 13. The class, titled “Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People,” will teach students all the chords needed to play any pop song, any style and in any key in one session.

The class will last from 6 to 9:30 p.m. and will teach how to read guitar chord symbols, not notes, and how to embellish songs using the secrets and shortcuts of professional piano players.
