Iowa leader search

Iowa leader search

The Executive Director Search Committee of the Baptist Convention of Iowa (BCI) has begun seeking candidates to fill the executive director/treasurer position, which was left vacant by the retirement of Jimmy Barrentine in September 2011. During this time the BCI has been led by interim director Thomas L. Law III as the convention has undergone restructuring.

BCI began as an association of 25 churches in 1965. The state work grew to a fellowship status in 1972 and became a state convention in 1995. To date, 110 churches and/or missions are established in a multicultural state in urban and rural settings.

The committee chairman, Pastor Dan Doolin of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Wapello, states, “We are looking for a Southern Baptist man who possesses a servant leadership style with a desire to carry out the Great Commission by helping to start new churches and strengthening the existing ones.” Advanced college and/or seminary degrees are desirable with experience in missions ministry/administration. A complete job description may be found at www.bciowa.org.

Resumés are being received through Nov. 1. Interested candidates may submit resumés by email. Send to bciexecresumes@gmail.com.
