Iraq: ‘Just War’

Iraq: ‘Just War’

Statements made by Richard Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, defining military actions against Iraq as a “just war” are alarming. Land must have better intelligence than our federal government on the true threat that Saddam Hussein poses to the United States.

Perhaps he could share that information with our congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle, who remain undecided that enough evidence exists to justify an attack on Iraq.

There is no question that Hussein is a dictator of the worst kind, but do most Baptists believe that we have a right to endanger our armed forces without support of our allies or clear proof of threats to American security? I hope not.
