Expecting Good Things
Spring Hill Music

With titles like “The Sun Will Shine Again,”  “Born to Climb,” “Time for Me to Fly,” “I Get To” and especially the title song, “Expecting Good Things,” it’s pretty easy to pick up on the theme of the new CD from Jeff & Sheri Easter.

Favorites include the upbeat “The Sun Will Shine Again,” the traditional country sounding “I Get To” and the straightforward southern gospel sound of “In the Name of Jesus.” Their first single, “Born to Climb,” is vintage Jeff & Sheri Easter.

Bluegrass gospel classic “Workin’ on a Road” includes guests Marty Stuart (mandolin and vocal), Connie Smith (vocal) and radio station WSM announcer Eddie Stubbs (singing bass).

As they do on every recording project, Jeff and Sheri recorded a love song. Their choice this go-around was “I Know I Love You,” written by country writer Lisa Shaffer.

Sheri is featured on “Love Remains,” a Beatles-like ballad and arrangement. She belts out “Over the Mountain,” and the bluesy “I Don’t Wanna Cry,” is in Sheri’s vocal sweet spot. “Hear My Heart,” co-written by Sheri, is a personal song in which she allows the listener to sneak a peak at her innermost thoughts during the peak of her battle with breast cancer.

“Expecting Good Things” contains 13 songs — a fine collection that will speak to the listener in a very personal way.
