Jerry Falwell relocates Thomas Road ministry

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Jerry Falwell’s Thomas Road Baptist Church has signed a contract to buy a 110-acre industrial site for $10.2 million, and Falwell said he will move the church, its Lynchburg Christian Academy and the Liberty Bible Institute to the new site, which has an 888,000-square-foot complex.

The site is adjacent to the campus of Liberty University, which Falwell founded. Falwell began the ministry in 1956 in a building housing the Donald Duck Bottling Company.
