Judson College in Marion will host its fourth annual Central Alabama Wellness Retreat for ministers June 14–18. The event is sponsored by Ministering to Ministers Foundation (MTM), an organization founded in 1992 and based in Richmond, Va.
MTM’s latest effort to impact ministers is called “Friends for the Journey,” a ministry designed to help ministers cope with being fired, forced to resign or pressured into retirement.
Since 1995, nearly 500 participants from 26 states and the Bahamas and 27 denominational affiliations have participated in Wellness Retreats. MTM Executive Director Charles Chandler said the Marion retreat proves different from others.
“The Marion retreats we’ve had the past three years have been unique,” Chandler said. “The local churches get involved in providing help. The facilities are good at the school, as well as the food.”
The June event is open to ministers and spouses. Scholarships are available for participants.
