Judson pastors conference to focus on ‘what women wish pastors knew’

Author and speaker Denise George will lead Judson College’s annual pastors seminar Oct. 9. She will follow the theme of her new book, “What Women Wish Pastors Knew: Understanding the Hopes, Hurts, Needs, and Dreams of Women in the Church.”

George, wife of Timothy George, dean of Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, said her book was the result of a survey of hundreds of Christian women. In her lecture at Judson, she will share insights and guidance to help pastors build women up, heal and empower them and help them contribute fully to the church.

Speaking to pastors, George said, “The women of your church think the world of you. But they deeply wish you understood a few things about them that can make an enormous difference to their well-being and that of your church.”

The day will begin with coffee and registration at 10:30 a.m., followed by worship at 11:10 a.m.
The seminar will last from 1–3 p.m. Judson will provide lunch, and the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM) will provide complimentary copies of the book.

Registration is limited to 75, and the reservation deadline is Oct. 1. Register by calling the SBOM office of LeaderCare and church administration at 1-800-264-1225, Ext. 263, or by e-mailing awade@alsbom.org. (JC)
