Judson Student Digs into State Ghost Towns

Judson College senior Mary Amelia Taylor, of Frisco City, delivered her history thesis Feb. 7 at the Regional Phi Alpha Theta Conference held at the University of West Alabama.

Taylor presented an abbreviated version of her paper, which digs deep into the haunted past of the Claiborne and Manistee cities in Monroe County.

The thesis, “The Rise and Fall of the ‘Dead Towns,’” and presentation were based on statewide historical and economic trends. Her full research, writing and presentation are posted at www.judson.edu.
