At Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Pell City, Redena King has served as director of the children’s choir for 23 years. Additionally she has taught Sunday School and a young adult discipleship class and formerly served as director of the church’s Woman’s Missionary Union.

Q: What led you to become so
involved in the church?
A: I love the Lord for what He has done for me and most of all, that He saved me. And I want to share that with others, to be a light to others.
Q: What does the ministry
demand?
A: A lot of prayer. A lot of time. And a lot of time ministering to others through talking and also just listening.
Q: What do you get from the
ministry?
A: It’s strengthened me and my faith. God has been so faithful. Seeing how He works in people. That’s helped me in ways I can’t number.
Q: How do the church and
your family support you?
A: I’ve been blessed with wonderful help and assistance. I’ve never taken credit. I’ve never done any of this by myself.
Q: How do you see yourself
involved in this in the future?
A: With God’s grace and mercy, I want to work wherever He leads. I want to be willing to follow.
