Bain A. Lambert, retired director of missions (DOM) and pastor of Alabama Baptist churches, died Sept. 28 at age 91. His death came after a lengthy illness.
An ordained Baptist minister for more than 50 years, he served as pastor of seven churches in Alabama before he became Clarke Association’s DOM. He was DOM of Geneva Association when he retired.
The churches Lambert led as pastor were: Orchard Baptist, Church, Mobile; Coffeeville Baptist Church, Coffeeville; Brooks Memorial Baptist Church, Atmore; West End Baptist Church, Selma; Concord Baptist Church, Hueytown; First Baptist Church, Centerville, and Elam Baptist Church, Thomasville.
A native of Uriah in Baldwin County, Lambert graduation from Howard College (now Samford Univeristy) in 1951. He also attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
Most recently he lived in a nursing home in Geneva with his wife, Ella Pauline Arnette Lambert, to whom he was married for 68 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, one sister, 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
