LifeWay Christian Resources has canceled the “Fast 50” seminars scheduled for June 23-24 following the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) annual meeting in Nashville.
LifeWay first planned the event in response to Southern Baptists who requested opportunities for ministry training in conjunction with SBC annual meetings, but lower than-expected registration led to its cancellation.
“We appreciate the interest of those who registered and are sorry that the overall registration fell significantly short of filling the seminars,” said John Gardner, LifeWay’s associate to the vice president of corporate affairs.
The event was designed to provide a broad spectrum of leadership training that featured many renowned Christian leaders including International Mission Board President Jerry Rankin, best-selling author John Trent and LifeWay President James T. Draper Jr.
LifeWay personnel will contact event registrants with information regarding a refund of their registration fees.
“LifeWay remains committed to leadership training and provides many ongoing opportunities through church resources events and at our conference centers,” Gardner said. “LifeWay will continue to be open to opportunities to tie training into future SBC annual meetings.”
