LifeWay Christian Resources is providing churches with two 2009 Vacation Bible School (VBS) themes from which to choose — “Boomerang Express” and “Truth Trek.”
Children will take a ride through the Australian outback in LifeWay’s “Boomerang Express,” learning how “it all comes back to Jesus.”
Through a series of key events in the life of Peter, kidaroos (children) will come to understand that because of who Jesus is, they can follow, worship, confess and serve Him and trust in God’s plan for their lives. They will focus on 1 John 4:9: “God’s love was revealed among us in this way: God sent His one and only Son into the world so that we might live through Him.”

In LifeWay’s Club VBS, “Truth Trek,” children will trek across the desert on an archaeological dig, learning the motto “God’s truth! Dig it! Live it!”
Trekkers (children) will canvass various Old and New Testament characters and their journeys of learning to follow God’s commands through the treasures of honoring and obeying Him, honoring family, respecting life and respecting others.
Trekkers will learn the Ten Commandments and gain an understanding of who Jesus is. All the while, they will embrace the message of Proverbs 7:1: “My son, obey my words, and treasure my commands.”
“Truth Trek” is a VBS option for churches seeking to do weeklong events or day camps, as well as missions trips and midweek programs.
