Mary Liner has been involved in church work her whole life, whether serving as a Sunday School teacher or in different church organizations. Now Liner is known for her lap throws and other items that she makes, which she gives to the sick.
Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: It was in a Methodist church in Georgia, and it was during a revival. I was 14 years old. I wasn’t baptized until I went into the Baptist church.
Q: How have you been involved in church through the years?
A: I have worked in the Woman’s Missionary Union, in different organizations and leadership. I have taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School. I have been involved in church work all my life. Now I make lap throws and give them to the wheelchair patients, the sick and the shut-ins. People started hearing about me doing that and now they send me the material to make things with. I do a lot of things like that. I sew a lot and give to people. I make things from dishrags on up.
Q: What do you get from those ministries?
A: I get blessing after blessing. The Lord just blesses me all of the time. I get a joy and fulfillment from it.
Q: What difference has being a Christian made in your life?
A: I don’t know what it would be like not to be a Christian. At an early age, I accepted Him and I have just had Him with me my whole life. I can’t imagine what it is like for those who don’t have Him.
