The last night of Impact ’06 — a four-night youth outreach put on by Lineville Baptist Church in Carey Baptist Association — the church was so packed that Pastor Jerry Colquett joked that he was afraid the fire marshal might come by.
“It was all and more than we could have dreamed or hoped it would be,” Colquett said of the event that Lineville Baptist held Oct. 29–Nov. 1 in place of its yearly Judgement House. There were many professions of faith and rededications, including 40 year olds and 60 year olds making decisions.
Joey Hill of Scott Dawson Evangelistic Association brought the message each evening, and Oneonta-based band Someday Heaven led worship. Colquett said high school teachers have since noticed students carrying their Bibles to school and several Bible studies and prayer groups have started as a result of the event.
“We just stand amazed at what God is doing,” Colquett said. “We’ve already got it tentatively on the calendar for next year.”
