Q: How did you come to know the Lord?
A: I was drawn by the Holy Spirit at a very young age to accept Jesus, joined the church and was baptized, but I didn’t understand at the time what it meant to really trust in Jesus. Over the years, I knew I needed to be sure of my salvation, so I reaffirmed it as a young adult by trusting and receiving Him as my Lord and Savior.
Q: What led you to serve in the church’s music ministry?
A: It was through taking music lessons as a child. Then when my mother retired [as church pianist] … I played the piano until 1966, and then when we got the new organ, I became organist and I’ve played ever since.
Q: What do you personally get from serving in ministry?
A: It’s the greatest blessing in the world to be able to serve the Lord and serve the church in that capacity.
Q: How have your family members supported your ministry?
A: They’ve been behind me 100 percent. My husband, Billy, has been very supportive.
Q: How do you see yourself involved in ministry in the future?
A: God has blessed me so greatly in my music ministry, and I hope I can continue in my service for Him and the congregation for many years to come.
