Larry Brent Earnest, 77, died Dec. 19, 2023.
A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, he held a bachelor’s degree in religious education from Mississippi College and master’s degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He started in youth ministry in 1971, serving in Mississippi, Texas, Louisiana and Alabama.
He served with Birmingham Baptist Association (now Birmingham Metro Baptist Association) from 1970 to 2002 mainly focusing on community ministries. He also worked at Chick-fil-A in Leeds for 14 years. He was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Trussville.
Earnest is preceded in death by his parents Nathan Vernon Earnest and Martha Ida Farley Earnest.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Charlotte, two children and five grandchildren.
