Scott Sanders, longtime music minister at Greensport Baptist Church in Ashville, died unexpectedly this morning (Feb. 24). He was 60.
Sanders was a lifelong member of Greensport and began serving bivocationally as music minister in 2003.
His wife, Teresa, has served as the church secretary since 1990. They have three children and three grandchildren.
“Scott served faithfully as the music minister,” said Michael Mills, pastor of Greensport. “He was a man of devotion to his church, his family and all who knew him.”
An avid Alabama fan, Sanders’ “laugh and joy was contagious and brightened people’s lives,” Mills said. “His impact will be etched, not only on the history of our church, but also on the hearts of the many his life touched.”
